Theft at Center Parcs: Keeping Your Stuff Safe
Let's talk about something that's not much fun, but important to know about. While Center Parcs villages in the UK are generally a safe place for a fantastic family holiday, sometimes things can go missing. Don't worry though - we've got some easy ways to keep your belongings safe!

What's been happening?
We've heard from some holidaymakers about things going missing at Center Parcs. Sometimes it's bikes disappearing from outside lodges, items being taken from pushchairs while families are swimming or eating or scooters disappearing from Bike Parks. There have even been reports at some Villages of people who aren't staying at the park sneaking in and causing trouble.

Bikes Are Like Gold Dust
Your bikes are probably one of the most valuable things you'll bring to Center Parcs. They're also the most fun - nobody wants to lose their wheels halfway through their holiday! The good news is that keeping them safe is pretty simple.

At the Cycle Centre you can pick up you a decent bike lock. However if you're bringing your own bikes, you might want to grab your own lock before you come. Some options:

When you're out and about, always use the bike parks - they're usually in well-lit areas where lots of people pass by.

Pushchair Problems
Pushchairs are another hot target - they are also high value items! When you're heading for a swim or meal, use the pram parks rather than leaving your pushchair in a quiet corner. Never leave your phone, wallet, or other valuable stuff in the pushchair - even if it's just for a quick splash in the pool.

Here's a cool tip: pop a bluetooth smart tracker somewhere hidden in your pushchair. They're not expensive, and they can help you track down your pushchair if someone decides to "borrow" it.

Some options:

  • Apple AirTag - tight integration with the Apple ecosystem and can even help your pinpoint within a couple of inches where the item is
  • UGREEN FineTracker - small, credit card sized tracker that is rechargeable. Works with Apple Find My.
  • Tile - a suite of trackers different shapes and sizes. Uses it own app/platform.

Also a curveball recommendation here is to get a tiny pram. Something like the SilverCross Jet or Bugaboo Butterfly fold down really small. Small enough to fix under a table or other discrete place while you eat or swim.

Your Lodge is Your Castle
When you're out having fun, make sure your lodge is locked up tight. It's just like being at home - close the windows, lock the doors, and don't leave stuff lying around outside. If you've got bikes, either lock them up or bring them inside overnight.

What If Something Goes Missing?
If something does disappear, don't panic! The first thing to do is tell someone who works at Center Parcs. Head to reception or find a security person - they're usually super helpful and want to sort things out quickly. They might even have found what you're looking for already!

Also post to social media platform you use such as Facebook, Reddit and X. Targeting Center Parc specific groups or hashtags.

Top Tips in Simple Words
Think of it this way - you wouldn't leave your bike unlocked outside your local shops, or your phone on a restaurant table at home. Center Parcs is amazing, but it's good to use the same common sense you would anywhere else.

A few easy things to remember:

  •  Lock your bikes up (every time!)
  •  Keep valuable stuff with you
  •  Use the proper parking spots for bikes and pushchairs
  •  Lock your lodge when you go out

One Last Thing...
Don't let all this security talk worry you! Center Parcs is still an awesome place for a holiday. These are just some simple ways to make sure nothing spoils your fun. Most people never have any problems at all - but it's better to be safe than sorry!
