Subtropical Swimming Paradise - Your Ticket to Adventure
The pools cater to everyone - from shallow toddler areas with gentle fountains to exhilarating rides for thrill-seekers. Wild Water Rapids, wave pools, and whirlpools provide hours of entertainment without spending a penny more.
Swimming Essentials Shopping List:
- Swim nappies for little ones. These are essential if your little ones aren't toilet trained. You can buy them at the Parc Market or Swim shop onsite but expect a markup so best but them before hand (Amazon link).
- Pool towels. You cannot use the towels from your lodge in the swimming. Save on hire costs and bring your own.
- Waterproof phone case. Modern smartphones are waterproof but just to be safe you can get waterproof cases for your phone. You can get a two pack on Amazon for about a tenner.
- Swimming goggles
- Pool-safe toys, favourites in our house have been a Pufferfish Ball and a bit bulk bag of various pool toys
- Waterproof bag for wet items
Adventure Playgrounds - A World of Discovery
The playgrounds are strategically placed throughout the village, often near restaurants or coffee shops, making it easy to combine play time with refreshment breaks.
Beach Life - Lakeside Fun
Beach Day Essentials:
- Bucket and spade set. I would recommend thinking about a reuseable set. For example you can get collapsible ones for quite cheap on Amazon that are hopefully reusable and easy to take home with you rather than just buying a cheap single use set that will end up in landfill.
- Sun protection... maybe. If the weather gods are on your side.
- Waterproof picnic blanket. There are some picnic tables at the beaches (certainly at Sherwood and Whinfell) but your own picnic blanket is a good shout if its busy.
- Beach umbrella (weather dependent again)
Outdoor Games in Open Spaces
Just be conscious of boot space when packing larger items like footballs and basketballs.
Outdoor Games Shopping List:
- Frisbee (soft edge recommended). In my experience the 'ring' Frisbees are the best.
- Balls. Could be footballs, tennis balls or a soft ball for catching. Also popular in my house is velcro pads to help with catching.
- Bubble mixture and wands. If you have the packing space in your boot a bubble machine is great fun too, you can pick up one with a rechargeable battery for about £25.
- Skipping rope, timeless.
- Travel-size cricket set. Just make sure you have plenty of space away from windows and any vehicles.
- Giant playing cards or if boot space allows it giant Jenga (perfect for lodge evenings too).
